BNY Mellon   New York bank Mellon has hired a JPMorgan Chase executive to lead its treasury services business.

From May 2, Jennifer Barker will serve as CEO of the unit, which offers payments, US dollar clearing, trade finance and cash management solutions to domestic and international customers, BNY Mellon said Wednesday.


Barker, who will be based in Dallas, will be on BNY Mellon’s executive management committee. According to a company spokesperson, she will report to Robin Vince, vice chairman of BNY Mellon and chief executive of the firm’s global market infrastructure unit.

The custody bank said Barker’s duties would include maintaining BNY Mellon’s focus on its digital transformation as part of its efforts to reduce the use of paper in global payments and the trade supply chain.

Barker will replace Paul Admo, who has been overseeing BNY Mellon’s treasury services business for several months on a temporary basis after taking over from his former CEO, Paul Camp’s Wells Fargo.

When Barker joins BNY Mailon this spring, Admo is expected to return to his former role as chief operating officer and chief financial officer for treasury services.

Barker, who recently headed client service and implementation at JPMorgan’s wholesale payments unit, will oversee approximately 400 employees at BNY Mellon, according to a company spokesman.
