Description

The Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) offers a wide variety of scholarships and grants in order to make it easier for students to pay for some services offered by the university. With these aids, the UPV aims not to exclude any student from the university for financial reasons.

In order to respond to all these students with economic needs, the Polytechnic University of Valencia announces the Social Action Aid Scholarships Surviving Cause . The university plans to help families in exceptionally serious situations with these scholarships.

Those students who are enrolled in an official degree to obtain a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate at the Polytechnic University of Valencia may apply for one of the Sudden Cause Social Action Aid Scholarships.

The Sudden Cause Social Action Aid Scholarships help to partially or fully defray the enrollment expenses of the credits necessary to obtain the degree. Exceptionally, financial aid will be offered for residence expenses, didactic material or travel.

Requirements

The Call is addressed exclusively to students enrolled in official studies taught at the UPV, specifically Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate studies, who are nationals of a member state of the European Union or, in the case of non-EU, have the status of resident in Spain, with authorization to work, being excluded from applying for these scholarships those who are in a situation of stay, in which they attend, in the established period, supervening circumstance, both of the family unit and of the applicant himself, of exceptional seriousness and that causes serious economic damage that may make it difficult for the applicant to continue his studies.

 Extraordinarily, requests for assistance from non-resident non-EU citizens may be dealt with due to unforeseen causes.

Award Criteria

For the study of the applications, the Social Action Commission will verify and assess the supervening circumstances of exceptional gravity that occurred during the academic year that occur in each case, and that have caused serious economic damage that makes it difficult for the applicant to continue their studies. which may be, among others: 

Loss of employment of members of the family unit that entails a decrease in income. 

Death of one of the members of the family unit receiving income that entails a decrease in income. 

Situation of disability of members of the family unit who receive income that entails a decrease in income. 

Disability of members of the family unit earning income that entails a decrease in income. 

Serious illness of one of the income earning members that entails a decrease in income.

Applications based on supervening circumstances of exceptional gravity, together with the rest of the documentation, must be submitted at any of the offices of the General Registry of the UPV, at the electronic headquarters of the UPV https://sede.upv.es, through of the Common Electronic Registry of the State Administration, which is carried out through the link: https://rec.redsara.es/registro/action/are/acceso.do, or any of the means established in article 16.4 of the Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, directing the request to the Student service.

Calculation of the family economic situation

The family income for the purposes of determining the aid, will be obtained by aggregating the income for the year 2020 or 2021 for which data is available in the Tax Agency, of each of the computable members of the family who obtain income of any nature, calculated as indicated in the following paragraphs and in accordance with the current regulatory regulations of Personal Income Tax. In any case, negative balances of capital gains and losses corresponding to previous years will be excluded. 

For the determination of the income of computable members who have submitted a return or request for refund for Personal Income Tax, the general tax base will be added to the savings tax base, excluding negative balances of gains and losses. assets corresponding to years prior to 2020 or 2021. The amount resulting from the self-assessment will be subtracted from this result. 

For the determination of the income of computable members who obtain their own income, who have not filed a declaration, because they are not obliged to do so, nor have they requested a refund, the procedure described in the first paragraph above will be followed and the results obtained will be subtracted. payments on account made. 

For the calculation of the family income for purposes of aid as established in the preceding paragraphs, fifty percent of the income contributed by any computable member of the family other than the main breadwinners will be deducted.

Applications will be accompanied by the following documentation:

 Photocopy of the national identity document or foreign identification number (NIE) of the applicant and of all computable family members over sixteen years of age. 

Document issued by the bank stating the IBAN code, in which the amount of the scholarship will be paid and of which the applicant student must be, in any case, the holder or co-holder. 

Non-EU students must provide proof of legal residence in Spain.

Income certificate issued by the State Tax Administration Agency, of all computable members of the family unit, for the financial year 2020 or 2021 for which data is available in the Tax Agency.

Registration certificates of the ascendants of the parents who live at the same address. 

Documentation accrediting the situation that has given rise to the supervening circumstance, as well as a supporting document proving the loss of income, such as:

Medical reports.

Death certificates.

Copies of employment contracts.

Company certificate stating the end of the employment relationship for reasons beyond the control of the worker

Certificates of disability or disability.

Regulatory Agreement (in case of separation of parents) 

Latest payslips, or others.

For the calculation of the income of the family unit, non-Spanish citizens will attach to their application a certification issued by the tax authority of their country on the income obtained in the financial year 2020 or 2021 for which data is available for all members of the family. family unit.
