He was the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sports from January 8, 2018 to July 9, 2018. He was the Minister of State for Digital from July 2016 to January 2018.

Matt was elected Conservative MP for West Suffolk in May 2010. Since 2010, Mate has been a backbencher on the Public Accounts Committee and the Standards and Privileges Committee. Matt is related to Martha and has three young children. He is the first MP in a short time to dominate the horse race, winning the New Market July course in August 2012.
